Headquartered in Laguna Beach, California, Burbridge Design Group’s creative design expertise graces private homes, residential developments, tableware, furniture, bedding, pillows, draperies and other home accessories.

The company, founded in 1981, provides interior design for private homes in the Western United States, and model homes in the U.S. and China. The company’s high-end tableware designs have been purchased by Christian Dior, Sasaki and Mikasa.

In late 2009, Burbridge Design opened studio julie b. in conjunction with Oule Furniture Manufacturing in Beijing due to strong demand from Chinese consumers wishing to purchase furniture and home accessories they saw in Burbridge-designed model homes.

For the past eight years, Julie Burbridge, President/Director of Design of Burbridge Design Group, has been bringing American design to model homes in high-end residential housing developments in numerous Chinese cities. Chinese customers coveted the look of Burbridge-designed interiors and her custom-designed furniture so much that they began asking model home staff where they could purchase the furniture and accessories to recreate the “Burbridge look.”

That demand led Burbridge and Oule to create studio julie b. where customers can see, experience and purchase all the furniture and accessories needed to create what they experienced in Burbridge’s model home interiors.

Studio julie b., housed within Oule, offers a line of furniture, bedding, pillows, and draperies exclusively designed by Burbridge, and other home accessories. To appeal to a wide range of tastes, Burbridge created a variety of styles, schemes and color palettes. Inside studio julie b., customers can drape large fabric samples on a sofa or chair and toss coordinating custom-designed pillows together and watch the design come alive. The boutique allows customers to have a completely custom-designed room by Burbridge ready to take home - without hiring an interior designer. In addition to offering everything one needs to recreate a Burbridge-designed room, studio julie b. also offers several levels of custom design services.

Burbridge Design Group Opens studio julie b. with Oule in Beijing

 

Selected Projects

Burbridge Design Group has worked with residential developers in California, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, and cities including Seattle, Portland and Las Vegas, creating the interior designs for more than 120 residential developments. In 2002, Burbridge Design Group went overseas to help Chinese developers design model homes with an American look. To date, the company has designed model home interiors for 15 residential developments in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Kunming.

Project: Mosaic at Esplanade/ Plan One

Location: La Quinta, CA
Builder: Ponderosa Homes

Burbridge Design Group provided all interior design and merchandising service for 3 single family dwelling model homes in this project. The development is located in a desirable desert community in the Palm Springs area. The homes ranges in size from 2,150 SF to 2,600 SF. Burbridge Design Group designed a "Soft Contemporary" style that appealed to the younger buyer in this market. Sales rate was very brisk and in the final phase, sales prices had more than doubled. Project: Private Residence/English Cottage Historic Renovation

Location: Laguna Beach, CA
Builder: Owner/builder

This charming cottage originally built in 1928 was a complete renovation. The house was taken down to the studs while retaining all of the exterior architecture. BDG developed a warm, casual "Sophisticated Cottage" interior reflecting the owner's travels and personal collections. The home include 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. The master bath includes a personal spa with a luxurious soaking tub. The main area of the home is 2,400 SF. There is a beautiful Artist's studio above the garage capturing beautiful early morning light. Learn more.

Project: Tsinghua Sales Gallery

Location: Beijing, China
Builder: Beijing Longhu Time Real Estate Dev. Co., Ltd.

This 2-story 6025 SF (560M2) sales gallery is located in the heart of Beijing near Tsinghua University. The "Contemporary Classic" interior was designed to blend seamlessly with the architecture of the building. The facility includes a reception area, several waiting and negotiation areas, two libraries each with lounge and reading areas, service bar and gathering tables, media presentation room, 3 bathrooms and sales offices. The goal was to create comfortable, inviting spaces with a residential feeling where potential buyers could relax and review sales materials. Learn more.
